On the final day of our trip east, Trisha’s sister’s family took us to Longwood Gardens in Pennsylvania, a magnificent garden estate developed principally by Pierre S. du Pont. It’s a stunningly beautiful setting with acres and acres of trees, ornamental shrubs, fountains and an enormous conservatory.
