36 Holes

I’ve played two rounds in a day a few times but in every case one of the two rounds wasn’t a very good score. So I decided to try it again today at my local course, Mt. Si.  I played very steady golf for the first 27 holes. The the morning round produced a credible 83 (40+43).  I opened the second round a 42 on the front but couldn’t get another par on the back nine and ended up with an 88.

Good Two Weeks of Golf

After months of playing in cold, rainy conditions, I finally found some good weather and interesting golf courses during our trip back to Michigan and Ohio.  And, thankfully, I played respectable golf most of the time.

Score Date Course
90 June 2 Fox Hills, MI
88 June 3 Inn at St. John’s, MI
89 June 4 Northville Hills GC, MI
86 June 7 Eagle’s Landing, OH
93 June 8 Maumee Bay, OH
85 June 10 Mt. Si, WA
88 June 13 Suncadia, WA
82 June 14 Mt. Si, WA
83 June 16 Mt. Si, WA
89 June 17 Mt. Si, WA

Fatigue finally got me on the back nine yesterday and I had to struggle to get that 89 at Mt. Si (sinking a 20 foot putt on #18).

Local Library Named “Library of the Year”

The King County Library System has been named the “Library of the Year 2011.”  We don’t use the Library often but I’m always impressed when we do.  The facilities, even the little local buildings like those here in North Bend and Snoqualmie Ridge, are just excellent.  And with an easy to get library card, you get access to all kinds of online reference services.

Home Again

After nine days on the road in Michigan and Ohio it was comforting to see the familiar sight of the Cascades outside the airplane window.  We pampered ourselves by flying first class; now I fear we are spoiled for future air travel. The additional space and passable food made for a much more comfortable trip.

He Made It! Ryan Graduates

A momentous day indeed.  Ryan Billick made it through high school more or less in one piece.
