Snow Day

I think this is the heaviest snowfall we’ve had in three years or so; looks like about 14 inches in our yard:

Crows in the Snow

The crows have been very regular visitors this year and the snow seems to have brought out a larger than usual group.

Issaquah Birds

While Trisha was getting a new coiffure, I walked along the Rainier trail in Issaquah. There wasn’t much wildlife but I did spy these two mallards were relaxing the in the creek, in spite of the very cold temperatures; and one crow.

Another Possum Visit

I finally got a reasonable photo of our possum. What a homely critter he is.

Back from Bandon Dunes

I spent Tuesday and Wednesday at Bandon Dunes, playing 36 holes each day. I played OK on the first day, recording my best score ever on Pacific Dunes (85). On Wednesday I was kind of wiped out from a restless night’s sleep and slow play and didn’t do well at all. However, the scenery was as dramatic as ever, even with mostly overcast skies.

Bandon Trails Sunrise

Although Trails is not my favorite Bandon course, it can still be a picturesque setting. This morning’s sunrise was dramatic. Even the starter took a few photos as I prepared to tee off.

More Nocturnal Visitors

The raccoons seem to be visiting nearly every night nowadays (although we’ve also seen an opossum a couple of times as well, but he’s too shy to photograph).

Super Wet October

The odd weather year continues with the wettest October ever for Seattle:oct_record_rainSome locales on the coast had more than 20 inches. Officially, North Bend had less than Seattle but my little backyard rain gauges had us over ten inches.
