The average low for the month of February was 43 degrees, besting the previous 1958 mark of 41.7 degrees. The average daily high was 54.5.  And only two rainy days over the last three weeks of the month.

In our periods of relentless drizzle and gray, the clouds often part to give us brief glimpses of blue and lovely clouds.  Late this afternoon we had just a few minutes of clearing and got this view from the front step:

This is pretty much what the weather is going to look like for the next month… when it isn’t pouring rain.  It’s six weeks before I head to Las Vegas for a week of golf. It’s going to be a long six weeks.

The thermometer at Mt Si read 64 degrees this afternoon, under perfectly clear skies. I practiced in short sleeves.  At 5:30 it’s still officially 55.  Really amazing weather for January although I notice the high last January 25 was a pleasant 54.

The official high temperature at SeaTac today was 66 degrees, the warmest December day in Seattle history (and, strangely, the same temp as on our visit to Death Valley in October). Here in North Bend, we got up to a toasty 67 degrees, the warmest it’s been since the middle of September.

I don’t think I’ve built a snowman in maybe half a century…  Conditions were perfect this afternoon; heavy, wet snow and mild weather.

…that just a week ago we spent a good chunk of the day doing yard work.
