David Riding Horses
Posted in Animals on 14-Jul-2016
I got on a horse today for the first time since I was about nine years old. After having watched Trisha for the past few weeks I didn’t feel too intimidated. I’m not sure Cash, the horse, was very impressed though.

Bee

Posted in Animals on 7-Jul-2016
Another trip to Widbey Island. Trisha was given more freedom to handle the horse today.

We had our first raccoon visit in a very long time. Just a single critter; looks like a youngster.

Little Brown Squirrel
Posted in Animals on 22-Jun-2016
As much as I am annoyed by the plethora of large gray squirrels in our yard, I adore the small brown ones (usually just one). This guy is just so cute.

Trisha with Diego
Posted in Animals, Uncategorized on 2-Jun-2016
Today was Trisha’s first riding lesson at Equestrian Crossings on Whidbey Island. She hit it off right away with her equine partner Diego. He is a lovely animal.

Peach Roses
Posted in Around the house on 30-May-2016
The peach drift roses we put in a year or so ago are so beautiful.
Dogwood Blossoms
Posted in Around the house on 23-May-2016
Spring is officially here. Our dogwoods are in full bloom; this Satomi Pink is absolutely covered in flowers.

Last Morning in Big Sur
Posted in Travel on 17-May-2016
We were up early to begin our 500-mile trek from Big Sur to Medford. The view from our balcony was stereotypically beautiful: peacefully quiet with coastal fog from the ocean spreading among the fir trees and deer grazing in the meadow below.
