US Map Puzzle

We enjoyed this one immensely. It was great fun identifying the places we have visited and lived, and admitting how little we know about the geography of the eastern half of the U.S. This puzzle also added little false leads by including duplicates of well-know place names Charleston, SC and Charleston, WV. Very sneaky. At 1500 pieces it kept us busy for two weeks.
Wow! Warmest Seattle February By a Lot
The average low for the month of February was 43 degrees, besting the previous 1958 mark of 41.7 degrees. The average daily high was 54.5. And only two rainy days over the last three weeks of the month.
Whew! Five Years Retired
Can’t see how it’s been five years since my last day at Microsoft. It’s scary how fast the time passes.

Attic Puzzle

I was surprised by this puzzle. I didn’t think it would be much fun but it turned out to have all kinds of little details that I like and enough distinct lines and colors to make it doable. It only took about a week, though, so we’ll be on to the next one soon.
Glorious Morning
It was another unbelievable spring-like day. Teed off at Druid’s Glen at 7:40 and had wonderful views of Mt. Rainier including this one from the 9th green:
Old Macdonald and Home
I teed off at 7:30 this morning; it was nippy but beautiful again. Shot a shaky 93 (way off my 87 here last November). Had a great sunset last evening. This is looking west from the 17th tee at Pacific Dunes.
Trails and Pacific Dunes
It was another absolutely perfect day. My golf was marginally better but still pretty poor. I love the Pacific Dunes course, no matter how I play.
Bandon Trails / Bandon Dunes
Two rounds today and pretty terrible golf. The time off has had a discernible impact on my game and these courses are not very forgiving. That said, the weather was perfect and the scenery, as always, profoundly beautiful. With an 8:00 tee time I was at the practice range literally at the crack of dawn. What a start to the day, eh!
